Francisco Pedro Presas Pinto de Balsemão has been the CEO of the Impresa Group since March 2016. He was a member of Impresa’s Executive Board and the COO in charge of the Human Resources, Legal Matters and Sustainability. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Law by the Nova University of Lisbon and completed his master’s degree in Law by the University of Oxford (England).
He also attended the General Management Course at Nova School of Business and Economics and the following Management Programs for Executives: “Advanced Management Program” by the Catholic University of Portugal and Kellogg School of Management (Chicago), “Orchestrating Winning Performance / Leading the Family Business” at IMD Business School (Lausanne) and “Journey to Business Transformation” by Esade Business School, lectured at the Singularity University (NASA Research Park) in Silicon Valley.
He began his professional career in 2003, as a Lawyer at Linklaters, in Lisbon, having also worked as a Human Recourses Consultant at Heidrick & Struggles. He joined the Impresa Group in 2009, as Head of Human Resources. Previously, in 2007, he worked as a Consultant in the 3rd Committee of Human Rights, in the Mission of Portugal to the United Nations, in New York.
He also has been the Vice-President of SIC Esperança, a non-profit organisation, since 2013, and Director of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, since November 2017. He is a Member of the Advisory Board of the Forum for Competitiveness over the three-year period of 2018-2020, having also taken office as member of the Faculty Council at NOVA Faculty of Law in Lisbon, on July 2018, over the four-year period of 2018-2021.
